I am Arda, a MSc student at Bilkent University working on quantum transport theory in condensed matter systems, with a particular interest in graphene and novel 2D materials. I completed my BSc in Physics at Middle East Technical University.My work involves numerical simulation, high-performance computing in Python and density functional theory calculations using Quantum ESPRESSO
Free and open-source software and digital privacy are not just interests of mine, they are things I actively practice and care deeply about. I run Arch Linux on a ThinkPad, code mostly in VSCodium, and use Emacs with org-mode for writing and note-taking. I try to keep as much of my digital life as possible free from proprietary software and mass surveillance, using tools like Tor.
Outside of physics and computing, I have a growing interest in whisky culture.
